What an invigorating, joyous and fun time we had at our first evening Healers Circle!
Our gifted instructors, Rena Raymond & Barb Nelson, dressed in full Moroccan regalia, treated us to a duet of graceful belly dancing, explaining the relationship between the hand gestures and body movements to the everyday activities of middle Eastern women many years ago, when these dances were done by women, for women.
They shared with us the significance energetically of the various moves used in belly dancing, then invited us to join in.

We all chose scarves and coin/bell studded belly dance belts, received coaching and a little encouragement, and began to dance, laugh, and thoroughly enjoy each other's company. Dancing was interspersed with sharing a selection of tasty Moroccan & middle Eastern style salads & treats. Once everyone was danced-out, Barb & Rena got out the henna, and decorated us with elaborate hand, arm & leg tattoos. |
This is about as good as it gets for a "girl's night out"! Our heartfelt thanks to Rena & Barb for providing such a delight-filled evening.
